From 2012-2022, MEOPAR was funded by the Network Centres of Excellence (NCE), a Canadian federal initiative that connects university researchers with industry, government, and non-profit groups. During this time MEOPAR’s funding opportunities and strategic approach were shaped by the priorities of the NCE fund. Since 2024, MEOPAR has received funding from the Strategic Science Fund, a Canadian federal funding program that supports independent, not-for-profit science and research organizations. This program advances federal priorities through research, talent development, knowledge mobilization and culture. To learn more about how MEOPAR’s funding priorities are currently shaped by the Strategic Science Fund, read our 2025-2030 Science Strategy.
