Summary:
Reflecting the East, West, and North coasts, this Indigenous-led Community of Practice brings together First Nations Rights and Title Holders, First Nations organizations, and aspiring allies to enhance coastal resilience by deepening connections to Indigenous cultures and Indigenous Ocean Knowledges.
Goal and Approach:
The RRtR CoP builds connections and understanding between Indigenous and non-Indigenous coastal communities across Canada’s shared ocean waters through an Indigenous-led approach grounded in reconciliation, knowledge exchange, and shared ocean worldviews. It strengthens collaboration, coastal resilience, and emergency preparedness while supporting the well-being of frontline workers and creating opportunities for Indigenous youth and young marine professionals to connect with ocean industries.
