Knowledge Mobilization (KM) Fund – Summer 2025

August 7, 2025
Closed

The purpose of the KM Fund is to support the development of impactful science communication through diverse mediums, encouraging collaboration and innovation through knowledge mobilization activities aligned with MEOPAR’s Science Strategy. This can include, but is not limited to, data visualization, public materials, visual arts, language translation for knowledge transfer, as well as commercialization and incubator activities. By actively promoting scientific knowledge and diverse ways of understanding, we can empower audiences to respond thoughtfully and effectively when addressing overwhelming amounts of information.

MEOPAR requires that KM projects demonstrate strong EDIA initiatives, as well as Truth and Reconciliation principles, involving cross-sector engagement with Indigenous Peoples, equity-deserving groups, researchers, NGOs, industry, policymakers, and ocean-connected communities. Projects that demonstrate ingenuity, accessibility, and can reach intended audiences in meaningful ways will be given priority.

This KM Fund supports approximately 1 year of project funding up to $50,000. MEOPAR requires that applicants secure matching funds from non-federal government sources that equal or exceed the amount requested from MEOPAR.
