Dr. Heather Reader Joins National Research Vessel Task Team as Co-Chair, Enhancing Marine Research Access and Collaboration

Welcome, Dr. Heather Reader, to the National Research Vessel Task Team! We are thrilled to have you as our newly appointed co-chair. Dr. Reader is an Assistant Professor and Canada Research Chair in Ocean and Atmosphere Chemistry at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Her groundbreaking work in the Reader Lab focuses on the biogeochemical dynamics of marine dissolved organic matter (DOM), deciphering its roles in the environment. With 15 years’ of experience in environmental and aquatic chemistry research, Dr. Reader is an analytical chemist pushing the boundaries of her field. Her passion for the environment and science communication makes her a valuable addition to our team. Her extensive international experience, including collaborations in Canada, the USA, Sweden, and Denmark, allows for effective communication across cultures and scientific fields. We look forward to your invaluable contributions, Dr. Reader, in our collective mission to improve vessel access and coordination researchers in Canada.

The NRVTT extends gratitude to Melissa Anderson for her service as co-chair for the last two years. Melissa has been an invaluable asset to the NRVTT and has helped further its mission to improve research vessel access. We are grateful for her dedication and commitment to the NRVTT and wish her the utmost success in her future endeavors.
