Call

Knowledge Mobilization Fund Call in 2021-2022

My plan is to share the results of my post-doctoral research and the MEOPAR-funded MIDOSS project. I will focus on the following key topics:
  • The physical environment of the Salish Sea and the modeling framework(s) we use to understand it,
  • Oil transport in the Salish Sea based on AIS ship tracks and Washington state Department of Ecology oil transfer data,
  • Oil spill fate and the modeling framework we used to represent it,
  • A statistical view of oil spill fate in the Salish Sea using the MIDOSS modeling platform and our Monte Carlo approach.
The project will create:
  • 10-minute video of research to offer to tribes to share at tribal council meetings.
  • Graphical product to distribute to tribes.
  • Archived and publicly available Zoom presentation for researchers who are involved with Indigenous communities
