Knowledge Mobilization Fund Call in 2021-2022

World Water Journey (WWJ), a knowledge-sharing platform with an interactive map-each stop is a journey into the water story of the place. An innovative platform for knowledge sharing, story-telling, and community grassroots awareness-raising, that will not only enhance the public’s scientific knowledge about its water and coastal environment but will spawn increased stewardship and protection of this vital resource for our planet. WWJ uniquely shares scientific knowledge and innovations with communities offering new approaches to address coastal challenges while simultaneously provide critically important reciprocal loops back to the research bench bringing place-based, community-level observation, climate change impact experience and resilience approach informed by traditional, indigenous, and Inuit knowledge by featuring community knowledge holders/champions. With knowledge mobilization moving in all directions (communities, researchers, and industry partners), the WWJ will offer solution making and relationship-building for regional and global water and coastal security. Aligned withMEOPAR’s and Waterlution’s strategic plans, this project launches the Canadian Ocean &Coastal Research section of Waterlution’s World Water Journey.
The overarching goals of this project are to:
  1. Curate the WWJ Ocean & Coastal research platform section, highlighting MEOPAR research/researchers.
  2. Develop & launch the WWJ platform, an interactive creative space for researchers and citizens to explore and expand their ocean and coastal Canada water knowledge.
This project will feature four locations featuring researchers, community leaders & grassroots champions seeking innovative research approaches supporting community needs, academic and industry leaders seeking innovative and emerging solutions and partnerships to address their water-related challenges or business needs.
