The Fathom Fund’s Stories for Stream2Sea project reaches its crowdfunding goal

By June 9, 2021June 10th, 2021No Comments

Just in time for #WorldOceanDay, our latest Fathom Fund project celebrated major crowdfunding success, surpassing its goal and, therefore, unlocking access to MEOPAR funding.

For those just catching up, Stories for Stream2Sea: Mapping changing ocean relationships and ACTION in Canadian communities is an initiative of the Canadian Ocean Literacy Coalition (COLC) that will contribute to the goals of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and drive forward COLC’s recently launched national ocean literacy strategy.  A community journalism project, Stories for Stream2Sea will gather Canadian observations, values, perceptions and actions surrounding their relationships with the ocean. These stories, whether audio, video, photo or text, will be documented and shared via a publicly available interactive digital map (AKA a storymap) that will serve as a tool for both education and research.

If you’d like to read more about COLC and this work, click here. But for now, join us in celebrating yet another incredible Fathom Fund project getting off the ground.
